Alanis Morissette then and now: The Canadian legend lighting up Europe this summer
The Canadian-American singer-songwriter is back out on the road, performing to sellout crowds in Europe and South America.

After a whistlestop trek across South America, performing shows in Chile, Argentina, Peru, Columbia and Brazil in the space of a week, Alanis Morissette hits Europe. The Canadian-American singer-songwriter began the European leg of her 2025 World Tour last week, topping the bill at Bergenfest - the first of three dates across Scandinavia this summer and her ninth appearance in Denmark.
Almost exactly 29 years ago, a fresh-faced Alanis Morissette, just turned 22, took to the stage at the Roskilde Festival and ran through every track on her hugely-influential third studio album Jagged Little Pill.

Timeless album
The album went on to sell 75 million copies worldwide, received nine Grammy nominations (winning five) and catapulted the artist to levels of fame that she neither purposely sought nor felt entirely comfortable with. Being in the media spotlight 24/7 took its toll on her mental health. “To say that I’m fully recovered is a bit of a joke,” she told Forbes in 2020. “But how about this? I’m still alive”.
Jagged Little Piil was adapted for the stage and opened on Broadway in 2019. Today, it remains Morissette’s most well-known work and eight songs from here 1995 masterpiece feature in the setlist in the current tour.
During her concert at Stora Scenen in Stockholm, Alanis even invited a starstruck young female fan on stage to sing the first verse of her 1996 hit Ironic.
Fans can expect to hear favorites such as You Oughta Know, Hand in My Pocket You Learn, All I Really Want and Thank U alongside newer material such as Reasons I Drink, from her 2020 album Such Pretty Forks In The Road.
