Avoid this problem with your Nintendo Switch 2 when you are in the setup process
Do not skip this important step on the Switch 2.

If you’re waiting for your Nintendo Switch 2 to be delivered, there’s still time to avoid the problem that some users have reported when setting up their console and playing games for the first time.
Do not put off the System Transfer on your Nintendo Switch 2!
Some users have reported an issue when logging in with the Nintendo Switch 2. While it is understandable that you will want to skip everything and start playing Mario Kart World as soon as the console arrives, there is one important detail to consider. It seems that if you skip the System Transfer part of the console setup process to move your games from Nintendo Switch 1 to 2, the option to do this later does not appear. Currently, the only way to access this again is to factory reset the console, which may result in the loss of screenshots and downloaded games.
Why is the Nintendo Switch 2 System Transfer important?
If you already own a Nintendo Switch and have put hundreds of hours into a lot of games, have screenshots or simply have games like Animal Crossing: New Horizons or Pokémon that rely on a save file attached to the console because it does not support cloud save, then you will want to take your games to this new console.
Transferring to the Nintendo Switch 2 system is easy. All you need to do is ensure that both consoles are online and that your other Switch is close by when prompted during the launch of the Switch 2. The instructions will then walk you through the remaining steps, which take five to ten minutes to complete and require both consoles to be connected. Once complete, your Switch 2 will appear identical to your old Switch, including the games available on the main screen and their order.
