Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 launches Monolith Edition – for those who came after the previous limited editions sold-out
Sandfall Interactive’s new Monolith Edition brings back the Collector’s Edition in a way, but it doesn’t include the game.

Following the unexpected success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33‘s original Collector’s Edition, Sandfall Interactive has announced a new wave of collectibles under the Monolith Edition. This special set includes high-quality physical items, but notably does not come with the game itself.
What’s included in the Monolith Edition?
The Monolith Edition features all the physical collectibles from the original Collector’s Edition, minus the game and digital content. Here’s what fans can expect:
- Monolith Music Box – A hand-painted resin statue (20.3 cm) that plays a musical theme from the game.
- Expedition Journal Artbook – A 48-page hardcover book filled with concept art and lore.
- Exclusive Steelbook – Featuring Gustave, Maelle, and the Paintress in a stunning design.
- Premium Collector’s Chest – A high-quality storage box with a special finish.
Reservations for the Monolith Edition are open until June 12, 2025, with a limited number of units available.
Why doesn’t it include the game?
Sandfall Interactive explained that the decision to exclude the game was made to accommodate fans who already own it. The original Collector’s Edition sold out quickly, leading to high resale prices, with some copies reaching $800 on secondary markets.
By offering the Monolith Edition without the game, Sandfall aims to make the collectibles more accessible while preventing scalping and inflated resale prices.
Where to buy it?
The Monolith Edition is available for $119.99 through Laced Records, with a limit of two units per customer to prevent scalping. Additionally, a soft bundle version is available at Pix’n Love, which includes a physical PS5 copy but does not store it inside the collector’s chest. People outside the U.S. can also purchase it through Laced Records in the UK.
With the Monolith Edition, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 fans can finally own the coveted collectibles without paying exorbitant resale prices. While the lack of a game disc may be surprising, this move ensures that more players can enjoy the premium items without worrying about availability.
