FromSoftware

Elden Ring Nightreign hits 3.5 million copies sold; more content coming soon

More Nightlord fights, Duo Expeditions, and DLC... Nightreign’s future looks bright.

Elden Ring Nightreign

FromSoftware’s Elden Ring Nightreign has officially surpassed 3.5 million copies sold in just five days, marking a strong start for the multiplayer-focused spinoff. Despite initial concerns about its brutal solo experience, the game has seen improved player sentiment, thanks to a recent patch that makes solo play more accessible.

New content, starting this month

FromSoftware has confirmed that new content will be added regularly, starting this month. Upcoming updates include:

  • Enhanced Nightlord fights – Boss encounters will be reworked and expanded, offering new attack patterns and mechanics, coming later this month.
  • Duo Expeditions – A two-player mode is in development, addressing one of the biggest player requests. Coming at a later date.
  • Future DLC – While details remain scarce, FromSoftware has teased major expansions coming later this year.

Solo play improvements

One of the biggest criticisms at launch was Nightreign’s punishing solo experience, which felt unbalanced compared to its three-player co-op mode. However, a patch released on Monday has made solo play more viable, improving enemy scaling, rune rewards, and survival mechanics.

With Elden Ring Nightreign continuing to grow, FromSoftware is actively listening to player feedback and rolling out improvements. Whether you’re fighting solo or teaming up, the game’s future updates promise an even richer experience.
