Fans found a mind-blowing Red Dead Redemption 2 Easter egg in the GTA 6 trailer
The hidden reference in the trailer suggests that the GTA and Red Dead universes might be more connected than we thought.

The second trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI offered a new look at Vice City and its surroundings. It is one of the record-breaking YouTube videos that fans have watched, analyzing every single frame of the game. Some fans with incredible eyesight and impeccable memories have found an interesting connection between the new GTA adventure and Red Dead Redemption 2.
It’s all about the money
A Reddit user quickly made a connection between two Rockstar Games titles, and once you notice it, you can’t unsee it. The user points out in his publication that the money in the club scene does not have the images of bills found in our wallets. Rather, it features the fictional presidents from the collectible cigarette cards found throughout Red Dead Redemption 2.
We’re talking about characters like Thaddeus Waxman and Franklin Hardin, who are historical figures in the Red Dead Redemption 2 universe. The fact that these characters, who only exist in the context of the Old West recreated by Rockstar, appear on the legal tender of Leonidas —the modern state in which GTA VI is set—is undoubtedly a detail that jumps out at those who are familiar with both games.
An Easter egg or a real connection between GTA and Red Dead Redemption?
Although Rockstar Games has not officially confirmed that the two games share the same universe, several Easter eggs in GTA link the two games, at least symbolically. These include the Red Dead book in Franklin’s house, the photograph in Cayo Perico, and the possibility of having John Marston as an ancestor in GTA Online.
These connections were even more apparent in other Rockstar titles, such as Manhunt and Bully. Shared landmarks, repeated cities, and other minor details revealed that they were part of a cohesive universe.
