Hideo Kojima (Death Stranding 2 and Metal Gear Solid) is amazed by Netflix’s Adolescence: “It’s good. It’s impressive”

The charismatic Japanese creative rarely misses when it comes to picking a standout TV show, and this time is no exception.

Once again, it’s time to talk about ’Adolescence’, the Netflix phenomenon that seems to have won over just about everyone. In a review on MeriStation, it was called “the best show of the year,” while critics from other countries describe it as “brutal and heartbreaking.” Today, there’s another big name to add to its list of fans—and it’s none other than Hideo Kojima, the legendary creator of Metal Gear Solid, Snatcher, and Death Stranding.

It’s widely known that Kojima is a cinephile and TV enthusiast, so it’s no surprise to see him sharing his tastes and recommendations with his legion of followers on social media. Now, he’s watching ’Adolescence’ on Netflix, and even though he’s only seen one of the four episodes, he hasn’t hesitated to praise it as “good” and “impressive.”

The eccentric and charismatic Japanese creator specifically highlighted the brilliance of director Philip Barantini’s decision to shoot each episode in a single continuous shot, as well as the fact that the approximately one-hour runtime of each episode represents a single hour in the story’s timeline. If Kojima loved the first episode this much, there’s little doubt he’ll thoroughly enjoy the remaining three.

Death Stranding 2 is aiming for the 2025 GOTY

There’s still a long way to go before the 2025 Game of the Year awards are handed out, but Death Stranding 2 is coming in strong, and its latest trailer left audiences speechless. There’s much more to uncover, but the video makes two things clear: players will once again deliver all sorts of cargo as Sam Porter Bridges, and if fans loved the first game’s landscapes, they’re going to be blown away this time around. The game is set to release on June 26 for PS5.
