New secret revealed in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - a hidden mechanic found
One feature in The Witcher 3 continues to surprise even the most seasoned fans.

A player of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has stumbled upon a seemingly hidden mechanic that has surprisingly gone unnoticed by much of the community. However, the reason for this ignorance may depend on which version of CD Projekt RED’s acclaimed title you’re playing.
A shortcut in The Witcher 3 that shows just how much the game has
Via the Witcher 3 subreddit, user Pboi401 shared a feature that seems to have gone unnoticed by many fans. It turns out that when you open the radial menu, the “Apply Oil” option allows you to equip these useful weapon power-ups directly, bypassing the need to navigate the main menus. As obvious as it may seem, much of the community was perplexed, as many were unaware of this shortcut.
“Wait what!? You don’t have to go into the menu?” replied user Ginzelini, “I knew about auto apply, but this I never knew.” “FFS I’ve got hundreds of hours in this game and never auto applied oils,” commented user scullyftw, “Feel thick as now.”
But why does a game with so many years of life, thousands of fans, and millions of hours of gameplay still hide features that not everyone knows about? As another user explained in the thread, this mechanic is only available in a specific version: the next-gen update.
“IIRC, it was added with the next-gen update, just like the auto-apply oils option in settings,” noted user GoldberrysHusband. “I like this one more, since it still requires me to think about it (which oil) and do it myself, although in a much easier way.”
Now you know, if you play the next-gen version of The Witcher 3, you can take advantage of this shortcut.
