Nintendo Switch 2: The 10 major games facing compatibility issues
Despite full backward compatibility, some big titles are struggling on the new console.
Nintendo has confirmed that Switch 2 will support the entire Switch catalog, but some high-profile games are experiencing technical issues. Titles like NieR Automata and Alan Wake Remastered currently fail to provide a stable experience, raising concerns among players.
The 10 major Switch games with compatibility problems
Here are the games that aren’t running properly on Switch 2:
- Alan Wake: Remastered – Starts but has compatibility issues.
- Final Fantasy – Fails to launch.
- NieR Automata: The End of YoRHa Edition – Fails to launch.
- Fall Guys – Starts but has compatibility issues.
- Alien Isolation – Starts but has compatibility issues.
- Rocket League – Fails to launch.
- Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection – Starts but has compatibility issues.
- Mega Man Legacy Collection – Starts but has compatibility issues.
- Dead by Daylight – Fails to launch.
- Darksiders Genesis – Fails to launch.
These games currently have no scheduled fixes, but others, like Doom Eternal and Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist,will receive patches at launch or shortly after.
Nintendo has assured players that most games will run smoothly, but publishers must address individual compatibility issues. While Switch 2 offers full backward compatibility, exceptions like Nintendo Labo VR Kit remain completely unsupported.
