Players won’t be able to achieve 100% completion in Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour without buying some accessories

Want 100% completion? You’ll need extra accessories for Nintendo’s Welcome Tour.

Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour: players need accessories to fully complete the game.

Nintendo’s Switch 2 Welcome Tour is designed to showcase the features and capabilities of the new console, but players hoping to achieve 100% completion will need to purchase additional accessories.

What accessories are required?

To fully complete Welcome Tour, players will need:

  • A USB camera – Required for one of the minigames.
  • A controller with GL/GR buttons – Either the Switch 2 Pro Controller or Joy-Con 2 Charging Grip is necessary for another minigame.
  • A 4K-supported TV or monitor – Needed to access one minigame and a tech demo.

Without these accessories, players won’t be able to complete all challenges or earn full rewards in the game.

Why is this controversial?

Many fans expected Welcome Tour to be a free pack-in title, similar to Astro’s Playroom on PlayStation. However, Nintendo is selling it separately for $10, and now players are discovering that some content is locked behind accessory requirements.

While the game is meant to demonstrate the Switch 2’s capabilities, some players feel that requiring extra purchases for full completion is unnecessary.

Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour is a fun introduction to the console, but achieving 100% completion comes at a cost. Whether this is a smart way to showcase accessories or an unnecessary barrier, players will have to decide if the extra investment is worth it.
