Pokémon TCG Pocket will hold a free event where you can get Rayquaza ex: dates, times and how to get it

Pokémon TCG Pocket is pulling out all the stops, and very soon it will be possible to get a free Rayquaza EX card. Rayquaza EX is one of the Legendary Pokémon of Hoenn and one of the most powerful in the franchise. This is all part of a six-month anniversary event for the game. To get this free card, you will need to participate in a limited-time individual event. The best part? You will be able to get not one, but two copies! You can find all the relevant details below.

Here’s how to get the Rayquaza EX card for free in Pokémon TCG Pocket: everything you need to know.

In a press release, Pokémon TCG Pocket revealed that a new individual event will be held from Wednesday, April 30 at 2:00 a.m. ET to Tuesday, May 13 at 1:59 a.m. ET, during which new promo cards, including Rayquaza EX, can be obtained. This means that we will have to overcome various battles against the AI to obtain the valuable prizes on offer. Additionally, players who complete new special missions will have the opportunity to obtain a second Rayquaza EX card, alongside other themed accessories and additional rewards, including a Shaymin Sky Forme coin and a new mat.

This is an interesting gift that could affect the meta. Rayquaza EX is very similar to Dragonite because they both have the same move: Draco Meteor. To use it, you need four Energy cards of any colour, and it works by randomly selecting one of your opponent’s Pokémon four times and dealing 40 damage each time.

Although Rayquaza EX’s Draco Meteor deals up to 160 damage, spread across the opponent’s entire team, it is slightly weaker than Dragonite’s, which deals up to 200 damage. However, it is far more versatile for two reasons. Firstly, Rayquaza EX is a Basic Pokémon, so it can be played immediately without having to evolve it, unlike Dragonite. Secondly, the Energies required for attacks can be of any type or colour. This makes Rayquaza EX a highly versatile toolbox option that can be integrated into virtually any type of deck or strategy, particularly those with high Energy generation capabilities, such as Dialga EX, Misty, Gardevoir and Manaphy.
