PS5 State of Play predictions ahead of Summer Game Fest: smells like a new Resident Evil

The new State of Play prepares a relevant event for PS5 fans.

State of Play 4 de junio anunciado previsiones qué podemos esperar nuevo resident evil

The announcement of a State of Play this June 4 has left us all surprised. Given the proximity of the Summer Game Fest, everyone assumed that PlayStation would appear in some of the prepared events and that’s it. However, we will have a ration of content for PS5, and everything indicates that some relevant names will pass through its tape.

What can we expect from the new State of Play for PS5?

One of the latest names to appear this week is the new Resident Evil. Insiders such as Dusk Golem were hinting that this week was Capcom’s week of choice to unveil the new installment. Many said it would be on Friday during the Summer Game Fest, but the State of Play announcement has made things clearer.

Why? Simply because of the precedents. If we read the history of Capcom in recent years, the sponsorship of PlayStation has led the team to unveil its strong projects of the saga under the umbrella of the Japanese brand. Everything points to an unreleased installment that will succeed Resident Evil Village.

Very little is known about Square Enix. Practically its grid in the coming months is empty. In recent months there were rumors of a remastering of Final Fantasy Tactics with the 2.5D engine of the Octopath Traveler saga, but it remains a mystery. And if we look further, since the NVIDIA leak, there’s a Final Fantasy IX remake that God knows where it will be...

Death Stranding 2 may take center stage in that last trailer that Kojima owes to the audience, but its presence at the Summer Game Fest gala may turn the demo into something more focused on gameplay. Little has been said about what’s new in terms of connectivity, the elements you share by building with other players. Maybe now is the time.

A few games from PlayStation’s Asian incubator should also be kept in mind. One of them was Lost Soul Aside, which was scheduled to arrive in May but was delayed at the last minute until the end of August. Who knows if now is the time to see it in motion.
