Apex Legends Renewed with ‘Takeover,’ Season 24 Arrives with Changes to Weapons, Legends, and Rankings
The Battle Royale revolutionizes its game with radical changes.

Respawn Entertainment has presented through a closed digital presentation the radical changes that will come in season 24 of Apex Legends, called “Takeover”. In this talk, the developers detailed the updates that will refresh the game experience and even look to attract new players.
Creator Commissioners
Throughout the season, content creators will set unique challenges for all players to conquer and unlock rewards of their choosing. Players will be able to unlock rewards in each two-week challenge, either alone or as a community. In Week 1, they can work together to complete community challenges and determine how many Apex Packs (up to 20) they can earn. In Week 2, there will be individual challenges to unlock a creator-selected Legendary Weapon Aspect and the Apex Pack rewards set in Week 1. You will also be able to earn Twitch Drops and a set of Creator-themed Trackers to give to friends.
Arsenals
There will be weapon stations that will bring loot directly to players, with each weapon having a single ammo type available at your fingertips. You’ll be able to pick up a weapon, ammo, and even white or blue upgrades. These will be visible from the sky, allowing players to plan their landings.

Mythic R-301
This season introduces the Wraith-inspired Mythic R-301, which comes fully loaded with three unlockable levels featuring a new Void-inspired look, new animations for everything from reloads to enemy takedown effects, and even a new set of sounds. The Mythic R-301 is available for purchase and comes with free goodies, including the free Artillery Grenade skin for the duration of this event, the ability to apply the new enemy takedown animation to any R-301 skin you own, and the ability to apply the new enemy takedown animation to any R-301 skin you own.

Weapons with radical changes
This is the most notable change, as damage has been increased, headshot multipliers modified, and magazine size adjusted on some weapons. The goal is to make all weapons viable against the more popular options like the R-301 and Flatline.
Change in armor
The armor system has also been modified. White, blue, and purple helmets have been removed. Headshot damage is now constant. A new mythical armor helmet is also introduced, which turns the player’s armor red, but does not provide headshot damage reduction.

Focus on Assault Legends
This class will receive special attention with new benefits such as Stowed Reload (a type of automatic reload) and Battle Reserve (two additional grenade slots). They also gain Battle Surge, which provides a temporary speed boost and faster reloads when they breach an enemy’s shield.
For example, Ash and Ballistic, two Assault Legends, receive significant upgrades. Ash gains a new passive movement ability and improvements to his ultimate, while Ballistic becomes more versatile with the addition of his Sling weapon to his base set.
To address skill imbalances and make endgames even more intense, armor is now limited to level 3 purple, and the only way to get level 4 red shields is with the new Mythic Red Helmet, which will only be available in Mythic Containers and end-game booster packs.
The ranked mode
This mode will also be updated with “Road to Ranked”. New players must complete challenges to gain access to Ranked, which is designed to ensure a basic level of skill and understanding of the game.
Matchmaking
Synchronization improvements are implemented with shorter queue times and better skill scoring in timed modes. In addition, transparency will be increased with the skill display in unranked games.
This season will also feature collaborative events with content creators, new mythic weapon variants designed by Rampart, and a new weapon mastery system.
Anniversary Event
Players will be able to obtain 36 items related to this event, each of which is Legendary or higher, including a set of Inheritance Fragments and the first Mythic R-301. The Mythic R-301 is fully loaded with enhanced animations, textures, and graphical effects. Use Exotic Fragments to evolve it through four aesthetic upgrades. Public matches during the Mythic Exhibition, where Rampart-themed supply drops will feature all variants of the R-301, fully equipped and ready to wreak havoc with 3 different hop-ups: Red for Aggression, Yellow for Speed, and Green for Support.

Battle Pass Split 1
You’ll be able to get the legendary “Power Player” skin from Conduit at level 40, and the “Slithering Strike” reactive toggle at level 60. You’ll also be able to get the legendary “Workout Gear” skin from Newcastle and much more.
Players can upgrade their Battle Pass to unlock 10 Legendary Exotic Fragments, as well as Aspects, Banners, Emotes, Weapon Charms, and more.
Ultimate Battle Pass Split 1
Here you can get instant rewards that include 1200 Fabrication Metals and 8 Apex Packs with a Legendary Pack.
Ultimate+ Battle Pass Split 1
Purchase the Ultimate+ Split 1 Battle Pass and receive all Ultimate Battle Pass content, including Instant Rewards: 1200 Crafting Metals, 8 Apex Packs, 10 additional Battle Pass levels, and all playable Legends for the duration of the Split 1 Battle Pass for Ultimate+ owners. You will also receive 10 additional Exotic Fragments and 2 Ultimate+ Legendary Skin variants for Conduit and Newcastle.

With this plethora of changes, Respawn Entertainment is looking to reinvigorate Apex Legends, keep its veteran players engaged, and attract a new generation of Legends. Season 24 “Takeover” will launch on February 11th on all platforms where Apex Legends is available.
