The Final Fantasy Tactics remaster is a reality and you won’t have to wait to play it

Square Enix usually looks to the past to bring us titles of yesteryear. From collections like the Pixel Remaster Collection, or even monumental works like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. But on this occasion, the company saw a very particular corner, one that some fans longed for, with one of its most beloved classics from the original PlayStation: Final Fantasy Tactics.

During today’s State of Play, Square Enix announced this revamped version of the 1998 classic, now titled Final Fantasy Tactics - The Ivalice Chronicles.

What will Final Fantasy Tactics - The Ivalice Chronicles include?

This turn-based strategy game set in Ivalice will come with two different versions of the game, the classic version, and the enhanced version. In the latter we will find “fully voiced dialogue, an optimized and updated UI, graphical improvements, and a number of other quality of life features”. On the other hand, the classic version will be a version that will unite the graphics and gameplay of the original game along with the renewed version that arrived for PSP in 2007 in The War of the Lions, including its translation. In addition to these improvements, it will also have new features such as an auto save.

Best of all, you won’t have to wait too long, as Final Fantasy Tactics - The Ivalice Chronicles will arrive on PlayStation 5 on September 30, 2025, with its pre-sale already available.
