SCS Software
The new Euro Truck Simulator 2 mode that’s set to revolutionize everything we knew before
The popular truck simulator could expand its horizons beyond cargo transport with the arrival of buses.

Euro Truck Simulator 2, that silent giant on Steam that amasses tens of thousands of simultaneous players and boasts an impressive 97% approval rating. The future of ETS2 looks even more promising. SCS Software, its developers, have dropped a hint about a feature long requested by fans: the arrival of coaches or buses.
Buses on the way?
In a recent blog post, the studio shared a clue that is as cryptic as it is revealing. While there’s no exact date, the team has all but confirmed that drive-bys will be an official part of the game. The community has been asking for this feature for years, but this time everything points to a real implementation.
Also, SCS released a short video teaser. In it, a coach is seen emerging behind a truck before disappearing off-camera, hinting at what appears to be a continent-wide passenger transport system. “We’ve crossed borders, hauled freight, and explored countless cities across Europe. But just like any great journey, the road is always full of surprises. Something different is pulling into view, a new way to experience the world of Euro Truck Simulator 2. See you at the next stop.”
While the trailer does not reveal specific details about gameplay or release date, a watermark at the bottom confirms that it is a “work in progress.” In addition, an image in the trailer showing a passport and a tour guide suggests that these trips could be long distance.
In addition, the team is also working on new features for its sister title, American Truck Simulator. Under the name Project Road Trip, this update will introduce cars and possibly new related jobs, opening up another avenue of gameplay. Hopefully, coaches in ETS2 will receive similar treatment to enrich the experience beyond simple transportation.
While we wait for more news about this long-awaited expansion, we can always make time by exploring other relaxing or driving games that are still available on PC.
