Unova takes center stage in the new Pokémon TCG expansion, Black Bolt and White Flare
A journey back to the fifth generation of Pokémon.
The Pokémon Trading Card Game collection continues to grow this year. Ahead of the release of Destined Rivals later this month, a new expansion has been announced that will be part of the Scarlet and Purple series. Called Black Bolt and White Flare, the Pokémon TCG expands with these collections, which already have a release date.
Zekrom and Reshiram lead this expansion, inspired by Black & White
Black Bolt and White Flare will be available on July 18th, featuring the legendary Pokémon Zekrom and Reshiram. This collection pays homage to the fifth generation of the franchise, which originally debuted on Nintendo DS with Pokémon Black and White.
This expansion will focus on the 156 Pokémon originally discovered in the Unova region, bringing the total number of cards to over 300. In addition to the return of these Pokémon, the expansion will include unique Holographic Sets and Basic Energies with the original design of the Black and White Era, adding to the nostalgic journey.
What cards can we expect from Black Bolt and White Flare?
- Six Pokémon ex
- Eight ultra rare Pokémon and Supporter cards
- One illustration rare or special illustration rare card for each Unova Pokémon
- One special illustration rare Supporter card
On the other hand, it was announced that Pokémon Trading Card Game Live players will be able to get their hands on these cards a day before the physical release of the set, on July 17th, allowing players to collect and battle with the new cards on iOS, Android, MacOS and Windows devices.
