The legendary rally series is making a comeback, with Nacon leading the charge after EA and Codemasters’ departure.

Fans of high-speed rally racing have reason to celebrate: Nacon has officially regained the exclusive rights to develop and publish World Rally Championship (WRC) games for PC and consoles from 2027 to 2032.

This isn’t just a continuation of the series—it’s a complete reboot, promising a fresh vision that delivers an immersive, true-to-life rally experience for both longtime fans and newcomers.

Is Nacon the right choice?

Nacon previously handled the WRC license from 2015 to 2022, working closely with official teams and drivers to create authentic rally experiences.

Alain Falc, CEO of Nacon, expressed excitement about the renewed partnership:

“This iconic license provides an exceptional playground to build a highly refined driving experience that lives up to the expectations of rally fans.”

Meanwhile, Arne Dirks, WRC’s Chief Marketing Officer, emphasized Nacon’s expertise:

“Their vision stands out, and their experience in delivering great rally games is unquestioned.”

What to expect from the WRC reboot

The new WRC game will feature:

  • Official rallies, vehicles, teams, and sponsors.
  • A fully reimagined gameplay experience designed for modern consoles and PC.
  • Innovative mechanics that aim to elevate rally gaming to new heights.

With EA and Codemasters ending their involvement, fans were left wondering about the franchise’s future. Now, with Nacon back in control, expectations are higher than ever.
