Whatever the outcome come mid June, a new name will appear on the trophy. The Pacers have only reached one final previously in franchise history but in the 2000 Finals, they came up short against Phil Jackson’s LA Lakers.
Oklahoma have also made one final as The Thunder (2012) but also ended up on the losing side. However, in their previous incarnation as the Seattle Supersonics, they did win the title in the 1979 season before the franchise moved to Oklahoma in 2008.
