Update:

The first match was unforgettable. The second game promises just as much.

For the second Pacers–Thunder game, the NBA has assigned a veteran officiating crew made up of Zach Zarba, James Williams, and Ben Taylor. This trio brings a blend of experience, authority, and personality to the floor—ideal for such a high-stakes environment.

Zach Zarba, the crew chief, is one of the league’s most respected and experienced referees. He’s been officiating in the NBA for over two decades and has handled more than 1,200 regular-season games, 140+ playoff contests, and a dozen NBA Finals matchups.

As for James Williams, the secondary referee tonight, he is into his 14th season, and has officiated over 750 regular-season games and more than 50 playoff matchups.

Who is in the referee team for Game 2 between the Pacers and the Thunder?

Indiana @ Oklahoma City

  • Crew Chief: Zach Zarba (#15)
  • Referee: James Williams (#60)
  • Umpire: Ben Taylor (#46)
  • Alternate: Kevin Scott (#24)
  • Replay Center: Scott Foster

In game 1, we didn’t see any major officiating controversies: the crew — led by John Goble (Chief), with Marc Davis and David Guthrie on the court, and Kevin Scott serving as the alternate — maintained solid control throughout, and no calls sparked significant criticism from coaches, players, or analysts. We would like the same in Game 2, please!

The next NBA Finals game between the Indiana Pacers and the Oklahoma City Thunder is scheduled for tonight, Sunday, June 8, 2025. Tip-off time is set for 8 p.m. Eastern Time. Following this, Game 3 and Game 4 will take place on Wednesday, June 11, and Friday, June 13, respectively.
