The start of the expanded Club World Cup is just around the corner where Mexico will be represented by Monterrey and Pachuca. Real Madrid alone have assembled the most expensive squad in the competition with an overall value of 1.33 billion euros, while Auckland City, the squad with the lowest value, barely reaches 5.2 million euros (data from Transfermarkt).
Monterrey have the most expensively assembled team Liga MX will have at the Club World Cup. With names like Sergio Ramos, Sergio Canales, and Oliver Torres, among others, they will look to make an impression in a difficult group that features Inter, River Plate and Urawa Red Diamonds with progression from the group stage the minimum demand for the side from Nuevo Leon.
While Rayados are used to being one of the richest teams in Mexico, they are far from it on the international stage. In the Club World Cup they are the 20th most valuable squad with a value of 69 million euros, according to Transfermarkt. Of their group rivals, they barely surpass Urawa Red Diamonds, who cost 20 million euros and are far from what are Inter Milan (702.80 million euros) and River Plate (114.20 million euros), who are their rivals in Group E.

Tuzos hoping to progress from Group H
Pachuca are a club more accustomed to developing youth players through their celebrated academy and despite this have the 22nd most expensive team in the Club World Cup. The Tuzos are worth around 55 million euros, a figure that puts them far behind their group rivals.
The Hidalguenses are located in Group H. In the tournament they debut against Al Hilal, worth 153 million euros, then they will play against the powerful Real Madrid of more than a billion euros and close the group stage against Red Bull Salzburg, which has a squad value of 158.70 million euros.
